Since 1886 Cheerful Home has been a significant provider to the Quincy community, providing needed childcare and pre-school education for area children. An Illinois not-for-profit corporation holding IRS 501 (c) (3) status, Cheerful Home is the oldest licensed child care facility in the state (and the fifteenth oldest in the nation) currently serving up to 180 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Throughout our history Cheerful Home has responded to our community by continuously expanding, creating and re-creating our curriculum and methods by which we teach, to meet the needs of our families and our community we serve.
