Qualities

Our Five indicators of Quality Childcare:

1. Our curriculum emphasizes active learning in the areas of cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. We assess and address learning needed for pre-school / kindergarten, social skills and etiquette, self-esteem and confidence, as well physical developmental needs. We serve children ranging in age from 6 weeks through 12 years of age.
   
   
2. Staff are highly experienced, qualified and nurturing. Approximately 75% of our staff are child care qualified teachers with the majority having between 5 and 20+ years at Cheerful Home. Staff at Cheerful Home stay for the same reasons that children stay - It is an enriching and quality environment.
   
   
3. Cheerful Home is both licensed by the State of Illinois, and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. In order for Cheerful Home to remain accredited we adhere to strict standards insuring the best quality child care and educational curriculum for our children.
   
   
4. Children are recognized for their cultural diversity, supported through awareness and development of all cultures, races, genders and religious backgrounds. Children are taught through awareness to honor and accept diversity within our community and our world.
   
   
5. Outreach Family Support Program: We understand that children and families may endure stressful events in their lives, and thus we provide an in-house counselor as assistance to both you and your child during those times when some extra assistance could be helpful.
