March Newsletter

The children loved our study on pizza. A few highlights were our pretend pizza parlor in the Dramatic Play Center and visiting Fire House Pizza. Many of the children acted out baking, serving, and paying for the play pizza together. We say good-bye to Teriss, Emmy, and Kaylee H. as they move next door. We would like to welcome Cameron, Tyi, and Peirce. Closer to the end of the month Colin and Lilie will be joining us from Preschool 2. As some children move down, others will be moving up as well, which will be Zoe and Kaylee B.

During the month of March we will be discussing transportation. Land transportation will be followed by air travel and on to boats. Next our topic will be construction. Sometime during this month we are hoping to take a city bus ride around town, to show them about money and learning about safety. Towards the end of the month we will move into spring and gardening. We will be planting our own seeds and grass seed to chart how much they grow and what elements are needed for growth.

Due to too many children bringing in different Show-N-Tell we are canceling bringing in numbers. We will start again with the letter A only on Friday. NO OTHER TOYS SHOULD BE BROUGHT ANY OTHER DAY. Also no food should be brought in unless your child has enough for the entire class (20 children) or they have a dietary issue this needs to be documented by a doctor. Some of the children have been bringing treats in and that is not fair to the others and they get upset when they are not allowed to eat them. Also if your child is not going to be here by lunch 11-11:30 please call because we do not save food after that time.

We are asking for donations for recycled products and any kind of craft items. We need to continue to provide lots of materials for all kinds of art projects and are running out. Please consider us during spring cleaning and save all types of lids, plastic soda bottles, toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. Also ribbon, yarn, buttons, string, craft sticks, colored paper, fabric, pipe cleaners, clothespins, magazines, foam shapes, magnets, scrap paper, and lots more. Also any kind of nature items like pinecones, rocks, pods, spiny balls, all of which we could use in our Science Center. Thank you again for all you do for your children.

Infants March Newsletter

Welcome to March, It's hard to believe spring is just around the corner. Speaking of spring, we will be having spring pictures taken on March 27th. They usually try to get to the Infants first and if there is an outfit that you would like just for pictures bring it in and we would be happy to change for you.

We would like to say Happy Birthday to Ava and Scarlet this month. We also will be saying good-bye to Nehemiah as he moves up to the Toddler room and welcoming Trynnity and Brody to our room. Also, want to Thank Ms. Alexis for her time with us, she will be moving to Preschool 4 and Miss Abby will be taking her spot in the Infants.

Our theme for this month are Dr.Seuss, St.Patrick's, Spring, and rainbows. Also if there is any way you can provide us with a family photo we would appreciate it. We like to put them up for the children to look at and let enjoy seeing their mom, dad, or sibling faces throughout the day.

Toddler 2 March Newsletter

March has arrived already. In this month, we will be learning about Dr.Seuss and we will be celebrating his birthday on March 2nd. We will also be talking about St.Patrick's Day, colors and dinosaurs. We will be having a lot of fun doing the activities that we have planned for our themes.

On the 11th of March, it is time to set clocks forward an hour. Let's make sure we do that so we are on time.

We will be taking a Bonkers trip on the 20th. Please have car seats and socks here by 8:30. Also March 20th Spring begins, I'm ready for that spring weather.

We would like to say goodbye to our good friend Lillian as she moves up to the year old room. We ish her the best of luck. We would like to also say goodbye to our friend Justice. We will miss you guys. We would like to welcome Parker to our room, hope she has a fun time with us.

On March 27th, we will be having Spring Pictures taken here. Let's get our smiling faces on!

As always please continue to work on using utensils, washing hands and brushing teeth at home. We will continue working on them as well.

School Age 2 March Newsletter

We start off our March newsletter with a bit of sad news, our School store will be closing as of March 9th. We will be making room for our new library. Our store has been operating for about 8 years. The class has learned a lot since the store opened, we have improved our math skills, and social skills. We will miss the store but will find something else to take its place.

Our month will be chalked full of fun things to do. We will making up our own holiday describing what makes our holiday so special. We willsee how important it is to have music in our school. We will write our own songs and make up a tune (maybe sing for the class). March is craft month so we will be making interesting crafts. We will also be whipping up some Danishes in honor of Johnny Appleseed Day.

Welcome to March, we will be learning about Dr. Seuss, St. Patrick's, Green, Wind, Kites, and Spring. We will be reading books, singing song, doing many art projects to go along with our themes. Also this month, we will be working on recognizing our names and tracing them.
Please remember to dress your child appropriately as we still will be going outside as weather permits.
May 27th are spring Pictures, we will send more information home closer to date. March 26th, we will start Cheerful Home Fundraiser.
Please continue to check your child's paper and cubbies for anything he or she may need. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at any time.

Wow! Can you believe it's March already? We want to welcome our new friends to our room. We would also like to say good bye to a few friends and wish them good luck.
Our themes for the month are: Dr.Seuss, St.Patrick's Day & Spring. We have some fun activities planned.
We ask that parents continue to work with your child on self help skills.
As weather permits, we will be going outside. Please watch the weather and dress you child appropriately.

For the month of March your child will be learning about the weather changes, colors, and having fun with St.Patrick's Day activities.

Dear Parents,
This month our themes will be celebrating Dr.Suess birthday, St.Patrick's Day, Changes in the Weather by exploring Spring & the experiences why it rains, working on Covey Habits; "Be Proactive". Talking about proactive choices vs. reactive choices.
Please be aware to dress your child accordingly as we will be going outside as weather permits.
We have also been working on the proper hand washing procedure and I ask for parents to please encourage at home too.
Cheerful Home Spring pictures will be March 27, watch for more information to follow.
Please remember to sign your child in & out. Also please check your child's mailbox.

Can you believe next week, on March 11th we move our clocks up one hour?

A little reminder....we will be closed on April 6th for Good Friday.

We will be having Spring Pictures on March 27th. More inforamtion to follow.

Please remember to dress your child appropriately each day since we will be going outside whenever the weather and temperature permits.

On March 16th, please try to have your child wear green and green snack are welcome for our St. Patrick's party.

Two's 2 February Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Leap year is here! For the month of February our themes will be hearts, the colors of Pink & Red, Family & the people we love, modes of transportation and animals. We are revisiting and expanding on our modews of transportation theme by giving us an opportunity to create some fun projects with empty cardboard egg cartons.

Also this month we would like to welcome Alaina, Lynnsey, Kamric, and Carson.. We will aslo be saying good-bye to our friends Teagan, Tyrek and Carter, who are turning 3 years old.

For our family & the peole that we love theme, we are asking for you to send pictures for your child to create a collage with anf display proudly around the room and share with his/her friends. We ask that the pictures you send contain at least one picture of your child. Pictures you send in WILL NOT be returned. Please send pictures in by friday, Febraury 10, 2012.

We will be celebrating Valentine's Day with our class on Monday, Februaury 14th @ 3:15. we would appreciate any store bought treats to contirbute to our party. Your child may also bring in Valentine's crad for their friends. We have 16 children in our class, We will be sending home a class list soon.

This winter season has been unseasonably warm recently. We mention this as a reminder that we will continue to go outside to play as weather permits. Please remember to check your child's cubby and daily paper for anything that he/she may need and to sign them in /out as well.

Toddlers 1 February Newsletter

Can you believe it's Febraury already? We have a lot of fun activities planned this month. The themes we will be Valentine's, Pets, Family, and our body parts. We are asking our parents to continue to wwork with your children on using their utensils. We have scheduled our Valentine's party for Feb.14th . There are 10 children in our class if you would like to bring Valentine's cards for your child to pass out to their friends.

Last but not least, we would like to say good-bye to Parker who is moving to Toddlers 2 and welcome Montez to our room.

School Age 2 February Newsletter

Our class will honor Mr.Groundhog by tallying up our survey and making Groundhog cupcakes.

Our class will learn about the ones who made a mark in history. Our theme will be put a "Stamp on Black History." We will be writing reports, having trivia questions, and drawing pictures of famous black Americans.

Please remember to sign your child in when they arrive and when they depart.

This month we will be cooking up a storm! We will start out the month by making " Groundhog Cupcakes. We will also make a chocolate covered preztels, & Cherry Danish. Yum Yum!

Dr.Rick Atwood will visiting our class on Feb.10th. He will give us tips on keeping our teeth healthy.

We will be learning about our presidents. Interesting facts playing trivia games; what presidents pictures are on what dollar....?

In the month of February, we are going to be learning about the Super Bowl, Shadows for groundhogs day, and many different Valentine's day activiites. Micheal Jordan's Bday is this month so we are going to learn some basketball skills.

This month is friendship and dental month. We will be learning about friendships and how we are all friends and how we can care for our teet. We will be having a valentine's day party on Feb.17th and a sign up sheet will be provided.

A reminder to all parents to sign your child in and out on the clipboard.

Also there will be a Parent Training Day on the Feb.28th, more information to follow.

Infants February Newsletter

A baby is born with a need to be loved....and never outgrow it.~frank A. Clark We know that very well these little ones we have in our life right now. Speaking of little ones, we have two new babies starting in the infant room this month, Cash and Arthur. That also means, we have two infants moving up to the Toddlers 1 for a new adventure. Our themes for this month are shadows, valentines, Mardi Gras, and Dental Health.

We will have a sign up sheet posted if you would like to sign up to bring in treat for Valentine's Party on the 14th. If you would like to bring valentine's for the kids, you are welcome too. We have posted a list of children names.

We would like to remind you to sign your child in and out everyday.

Friendly reminder: Please work on self help skills.

Please remember to check your child's daily sheet for supplies needed.

Preschool 2 February Newsletter

Here we are beginning the second month of 2012! Unbelievable!

Our Valentine Party will be Tuesday Feb 14th @ 3:15pm. You may bring in a store bought treats for our party, store bought treats ONLY. There will be a sign up sheet next to the clipboards. Your child may also bring in Valentine's cards, we will be sending home a class list.

We will be learning about addresses. Please help your child practice their home address.

Please have your child bring in a empty shoe box by Feb. 8th

The calendar that comes out every month is mainly for the activities of the A.M. group.

Watch the easel in our room for our upcoming fieldtrips.
